Due to certain circumstances, we only had Gigi today so we told her that she could do something really special and she decided she wanted to go see Graham.   They hadn't seen each other since December when baby Tom was coming, and while we love Tom- baby plus extra loving Cavapoo does not add up to a good idea so Graham visits aren't something we were anticipating at least until he was over one.


Though when Graham and Gigi initially met Graham went to Gigi, the idea of Graham being all over Thomas' toys scared me a bit since T often explores with his mouth (ick Dog hair!) and in December (since visiting Graham was a ruse to distract Gigi from Mommy being in the hospital) Gigi had gone to my house so we all decided that she would go to him again.


It took and hour and a half on the train for one very patient toddler (and three hours for us to go get her and bring her back) but it was well worth it when the best friends reunited!

Aside from walking together a whopping 15ish blocks, the pair spent the day playing and kissing each other thousands of times.  The even attempted to nap together but, as you can imagine that didn't work out so we had to separate them to get this result...

After more fun and snack sharing, it was time to get Gigi home so the two had to bid a sad farewell again for a while.   We all agreed that Tommy was missed by that it was nice to have a day with just the three of us like the old days... but only one. Hopefully the next time T will be able to join us in the Graham festivities; maybe everyone will recover by then.

Big Apple Bbq

If you are in New York and like barbecue (or even of you don't) you should visit Madison Square Park this week. The free, two day long event features the best bbq from across the country and random bands and lectures. I went today and it is massive!

All food is $8 a plate (there is also pie, ice cream, and both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks available for purchase) but the music is free. There are also games and contests around but aside from the food, the highlight for me was the Kurig company giving out free drinks.

Snow White and the Huntsman

Even though I go to the movie theater about once a week and watch them all the time, it is rather rare for me to review movies not starring Heath Ledger or created by Terry Gilliam but for this one I'll make an exception. I find myself to be a cinephile in training (recent discovery) but please don't expect this to be some pretentious piece. I promise to leave out any comparisons to other Fairy Tale turned action movie (for now.) It is a budding sub-genre but not either topic I want to discuss.
#1-Cast
Ok let's get this over with; like a bandaid maybe it'll hurt less if it goes fast. Kristin Stewart didn't suck (no vampire movie pun intended.) Don't misunderstand she wasn't great and I really can't picture her as the fairest of any land let alone one with Charlize but she acted slightly alive with a touch of emotion which is big for her.

Speaking of the Ms. Theron, she portrayed the evil queen brilliantly. She acted just as hard as if she was trying to get her second Oscar which is how it should be. Actors should give their all regardless of genre or who is watching, audiences deserve that.
The Huntsman was played by Chris Hemsworth. In a perfect world, Chris Hemsworth would be my fiance (well actually in a perfect world Chris would be the guy I turn down while dating David Cook .) Unfortunately, as I've learned from the Twilight franchise and Ke$ha being popular, all movies not either starring Heath Ledger and/ or being directed by Terry Gilliam, Monty Python no longer working together, and the invention of heelies this is not my perfect world. Hemsworth is married and has a baby but he's sexy as nobody's business and has certain Ledger-like acting skills. He makes the two dimensional Huntsman deep by showing true pain about looking his wife and enacting disdain at the idea of being the hero.
#2 Message of the movie
Everyone knows the story of Snow White. She is basically another damsel in distress like all of the princesses are. I know that women are considered dainty and I know I would want a man saving my life but little girls should know that women can be the hero.
This time around, after the Huntsman wakes Snow with a kiss, she leads the army to the castle and kills the queen herself! You go girl!! Then she is crowded Queen and while The Huntsman and her childhood crush are in attendance, she doesn't appear to be with either of them and will be ruling her kingdom solo.

MTV Movie Awards unvail new batman trailer while paying an unexpected Tribute to the Joker

Recently, director Christopher Nolan stated that the Joker will not be a part of his Batman Trilogy's final chapter THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. While I personally think that he said that as a decoy so people are surprised by archived footage of Heath Ledger's character or some mention of unseen hi-jinx, either way Ledger himself will obviously not be a part of it and last night, as the new trailer (below) was unveiled by his former cast mates, it is clear his presence is still sorely missed. Take a look:

Crazy Day

Yesterday started out like many fun-filled days nannying. Gigi was in a great mood and so was Thomas and we all went to a street fair after having donuts for breakfast. We saw a few famous faces (one of whom was Andrew Garfeild) and had a lot of fun playing. Then came our adventure Madison Sq park.


 Tom had been falling in and out of sleep while we were on our way so I decided to walk with him to make sure he didn't wake up while Lauren and G played in the grass. The rain gear was on because it looked like rain and the park is far but T was cool because the opening was opened and we took off his pants.
This woman came up and was scolding me "you have your baby in a bag he's dying" she looked a bit nutty but I said that it's in case of rain and is vented and continued. She began to follow me and yelled "its 1000 degrees and he's suffocating" which I ignored because he looked very comfortable sleeping. She then ran over and said that fine she would take it off because i wouldn't and i told her to mind her business as i jerked the carriage away which woke Tommy. I hurried toward Lauren to say that we should maybe leave and she followed screaming that he was crying because he was dying and she was calling authorities. She scared G needless to say and i told Lauren lets go. As i hurried to find the security that is claimed to be there she began to yell at L who took G and swiftly followed. We told a police officer across the street but since she had not followed out of the park, he unfortunately couldn't help because the park is the park security's control.


Poor Gigi kept asking why she did that because we take good care of them.

Happy National Dounut day

I'm not a huge Dounut fan but once in a blue a glazed just hits the spot and today, I got free breakfast thanks to Krispy Kreme.
